1. Accounting Specialist

H&T Accounting Services – Mississauga, ON
We are looking for an experienced Accounting Specialist to join our accounting team.

Job Description

  • Sort, Journalize and Archive Vendor bills, Customer invoices, and Bank and Credit Card Documents
  • Prepare year-end adjustments for income tax purposes (not GAAP)
  • Prepare T1, T2, T3, T5, HST, WSIB, Payroll, and Charity returns
  • Prepare Final and Estate returns for the deceased
  • Prepare occasional US returns
  • Prepare monthly Payroll schedules
  • Prepare complied financial information
  • Research publications of specific tax issues
  • Discuss Tax issues with CRA
  • Prepare Audit Defence reports
  • Estimate income and expense amounts on documents that are missing
  • Estimate expenses for business use of Residence (BUR)
  • Estimate expenses for business use of Vehicle (BUV)
  • Prepare Business Plans to procure Financing for businesses
  • Handle customer phone calls
  • Invoice clients
  • Perform clerical duties such as maintaining filing and record system
  • Assist with CRA audits
  • Perform general office duties

Qualifications:

  •  Working knowledge of Canadian Income Tax Rules/Laws
  • Working knowledge of CanTax (T1, T2, and T3) or other popular tax software and QuickBooks
  • Minimum of three years of accounting and tax experience
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Overall strong knowledge with Microsoft Office (MS Word and MS PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Flexibility as this position may require extended hours

  • Good oral communication skills

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Between $26 to $32 per hour

Working Hours: Between 35 to 40 hours per week

2. Accounting Assistant

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Assistant to join our accounting team.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing accounting and administrative duties in our CPA Accounting Firm.. You will support our business growth by processing invoices, transactions, expenses. This position will give you the opportunity to grow your accounting and income tax knowledge and experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare banking and credit card journals for our clients.
  • Prepare corporate and personal income tax returns.
  • Prepare HST and Payroll returns.
  • Prepare draft emails to clients.
  • Perform administrative support functions in the Firm.
  • Sort, journalize and archive invoices, bills and bank and credit card statements.
  • Assist in corresponding with potential clients.
  • Receive phone calls

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Accounting or a related field of study.
  • 1-3 years of experience preparing corporate and personal income tax returns.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Salary: Between $17 to $25 per hour
